In his trilogy, Vagn Buchwald only wrote: "the exterior shape of the mass certainly suggests a well-preserved fall. ..Elbogen was probably plowed up sometime around the year 1400 and soon became associated with the simultaneous death (killing?) of one of the hated burgraves."
