I've found that while people sure enjoy holding meteorites when I bring them to class or events, the biggest wows are almost always reserved for a thin section under x-p light. I use a very basic binocular scope and tape a polarizer around the objective end of the scope and set the section on another polarizer resting on the light base. It's cheap and works perfectly. Everyone thinks they've gone to church with all that chondritic stained glass!
