There can be no exceptions to the AD rule, that would make it pointless. You're implying that this person should have special consideration. This isn't just Art's rule. It's our rule. Art asked everyone to help create it. If Art wanted to spend time considering each seller on an individual basis he wouldn't have implemented it.
 
If Cottingham is allowed to do whatever he wants, every other inconsiderate seller will do the same and more will emerge.
