Hello List,

In response to a couple of emails and postings I will address a few
questions.

First of all the question was brought up about the freshness of the new fall
and if it might be made up or be from Northwest Africa. I need to make a
correction the name Thuathe has not been voted on yet by the Nomenclature
Committee but has been submitted, therefor the name is provisional.

Most specimens are very fresh looking with a few that were stained from
being exposed to the moist ground. Unlike Northwest Africa, Thuathe fell
high on a plateau where it actually snows so this witnessed fall was
introduced to different elements. The crusts on H type chondrites are
generally not as shiny as LL crusts. Thuathe was observed by thousands of
witnesses and was documented by a nearby university. The strewn field is
well documented and was plotted by the same university. We will include six
pages of documents in support of this new fall with any sample purchased.
The coordinates are clearly addressed in this document if anybody has the
desire to go there themselves and confirm this fall really exists. Other
competitive teams are there now confirming the reality of this new fall.
For the person who questioned the authenticity of this find the following
statement might apply:

If you are not willing to live on the edge and go check out this new find
yourself you are taking up too much real-estate.

Somebody asked the status of Bensour. The official documents were finally
sent to the Nom Com group for vote about a month ago. A year is not an
unreasonable amount of time when it is taking two years for many just to get
classifications. The delays were caused by O-isotope testing, fall date
issues and witness statements. Remember, at first the Nom Com questioned
the Bensour fall too which was the wise thing to do.

All the best,

Adam
