This new legislation refers to seven "basic principles", the first of which is: Fossils on federal land are part of America's heritage" The link to meteorites may not be apparent, but lately I haven't been able to give a lecture on meteorite recovery without the questions gravitating to this same subject - the current bill pending in U.S.Congress: The Paleontological Resources Preservation Act, H.R. 2974, http://www.agiweb.org/gap/legis107/fossils.html In order to have an informed discussion on the likely impact of this bill's passage to meteorite collecting, a review of this web page would be very helpful.
