Hello Everyone
Thank you for sharing your hunting experiences with us. I'm curious to know
how a meteorite magnet-cane is made & how one uses it in the field. I have
a magnet on a string. My husband has lots of golf clubs;-)

We've just returned from a trip to the north-western part of South Africa
where I found a rock (at a roadside mineral dealer's kiosk) my little magnet
just cannot keep it's hands off;-) As soon as I've had the photos developed
(still a few pic's on the spool) I'll post it to those interested. On the
same spool are photos of a few unusual stony-irons?? washed up on the shores
around our seaside village. (Bloubergstrand, 15km NNE of Cape Town, SA) I'm
not too exited about these finds as a ship ran aground here a few months ago
and a salvage company cut the top of it off with oxyacetylene?? torches. My
family are quite convinced that my meteorwrongs are iron "droppings" from
this work. Of course I will not believe anyone until the bofs on this list
have spoken!
Best wishes & thanks to all who have taken the time & effort to help
beginners, like me, get to grips with this vast subject.
