Mars Observer was a spacecraft failure. Mars Climate Orbiter was an
apparent navigation error, and we're already tracking this one down.

Most of the Mars failures were from the Soviet Union. They've had only one
fully successul Mars mission out of about 18 attempts. This is NASA's
fourth failed Mars mission.
