I had always assumed that the Apollo "moon rocks" the US government distributed to various countries were much larger - perhaps acorn sized fragments, or a decent part-slice or something. Apparently we were giving away crumb-sized micros. Or maybe, a given nation's relative value to the US as an ally may have dictated by how much Apollo material they received. And poor Nicaragua only merited a few specks. LOL.
