The event will feature new images, an update of the rover's progress, and a special greeting by NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. Members of the media who want to attend in person must arrange access by contacting the JPL Media Relations Office at 818-354-5011 by 10 a.m. PDT (1 p.m. EDT), Aug. 27. Valid media credentials are required. Non-U.S. citizens also must bring a passport. Media representatives who cannot attend in person may ask questions from other participating NASA centers or by telephone. To participate by phone, reporters also must contact the JPL Media Relations Office. Televised news conferences are broadcast live on NASA TV and online at: http://www.nasa.gov/ntv and http://www.ustream.tv/nasajpl The Mars Curiosity team is operating on Mars time. The Martian day is about 40 minutes longer than an Earth day. Media events are scheduled based on team availability and are subject to change.
