Anita and List,
 ?The correct name spelling for "Nantan" in Hanyu Pinyin (commonly called just Pinyin) is Nandan.

 ?Hanyu Pinyin was adopted in Communist Mainland China in 1958 as the standard form of romanization. When in China spell it like the Chinese!

If I worked at I suppose that I could find 2 or 3 more spellings using various systems of romanization schemes. IF you are going to do research you will have to use both Nandan and Nantan to find the literature.

Speaking of Nantans, there was a brief moment in time when the name changed to
Nandan. Does anyone know what the real name is?

? ? ? ? I am delighted that the word is FINALLY getting out about good
NanTans. I have hyped them since the old "VOYAGE!" magazine days.
They are interesting, unique, and all of mine are surprisingly stable -
And remember, in San Diego I won't even deal in cut irons due to the
Salt sea air.
