Aloha,

The Big Kahuna would like to announce NWA 6719 LL4 breccia (S2, W1). A single fresh 135g fusion crusted stone was found in North West Africa in 2011, and purchased out of Erfoud, Morocco in February 22, 2011. The stone was cut on a wire saw by Montana Meteorite Laboratory, and a sample submitted to Dr Tony Irving for analysis toward classification. The stone was found to be a fragmental genomict breccia consisting of angular chondrite clasts (up to 1 cm across) in a finer matrix of related material. Large, well-formed chondrules occur both within clasts and in the matrix. One metachondrite clast with a completely recrystallized texture was found. Olivine (Fa29.4-30.0), orthopyroxene (Fs24.1-24.2Wo1.8-1.7), clinopyroxene (Fs8.3-10.3Wo45.3-43.6), sodic plagioclase, altered kamacite, chromite, chlorapatite, troilite and taenite. Oum Dreyga (Amgala) is available, obtained from a Moroccan soldier in Bojdour who has kept it in his possession since 2003, when it was observed to fall October 16 on the Gour Lafkah Mountains south of Zbayra. Most of these complete individuals were recovered before the rains and exhibit very little to no oxidation on their fresh fusion crusts. Some larger broken fragments will be cut and slices will be offered later.
