>From everything I have seen and heard, Shiro cannot be etched. Some
pieces will take a high polish that is mirror-like, but they will not
etch, as Marcin said.

I have a thin slice that has two transparent crystals that show light
clearly. The slice is still unpolished, but I plan on polishing it
soon.
