Some pieces will take a high polish that is mirror-like, but they will not etch, as Marcin said. I have a thin slice that has two transparent crystals that show light clearly. The slice is still unpolished, but I plan on polishing it soon. http://encyclopedia-of-meteorites.com/test/44849_16368_1564.jpg Best regards, MikeG -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Galactic Stone & Ironworks - Meteorites & Amber (Michael Gilmer) Website - http://www.galactic-stone.com Facebook - http://tinyurl.com/42h79my News Feed - http://www.galactic-stone.com/rss/126516 Twitter - http://twitter.com/galacticstone EOM - http://www.encyclopedia-of-meteorites.com/collection.aspx?id=1564 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On 8/18/11, Marcin Cimala <marcin at meteoryt.net> wrote: > Slice was sold, maybe happy buyer is on the list and can check this for You. > For me, the dark area on top is low nickel or even no nickel iron becouse it > goes dark imediatelly I start etch it.
