Mercury's (Mercur's) are all locked up in garages and junkyards as of 2011, and Saturn's were re-accreted in 2010. Seems like celestially named vehicles just have bad luck when it comes to staying power. The Hyundai Tucson name is still around for the moment ... I guess people identify their automobile more with local traffic jams, ripping up the environment, and non-sensical alphanumeric suffixes than rockets and road trips around the solar system ... Kindest wishes Doug -----Original Message----- From: bill kies <parkforestmet at hotmail.com> To: mexicodoug at aim.com Cc: meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com Sent: Fri, Aug 5, 2011 10:00 pm Subject: RE: [meteorite-list] Mercury Meteorites - the short list "5. Mercury Meteor (parent body Mercury or Ford?)" I nominate the 64 Caliente. Parent body Mercury of course. My first celestial acquisition :) Bill > To: Meteorite-List at meteoritecentral.com > Date: Fri, 5 Aug 2011 19:54:40 -0400 > From: mexicodoug at aim.com > Subject: [meteorite-list] Mercury Meteorites - the short list > > Hello again Mercury Nornoids, > > Physics, opinions and biases aside ... can we build a concise list of > Mercury meteorite candidates already in our collections (at least > wistfully) and play a game to see if we can speculate on them one by > one - before the scientific press - with information from MESSENGER - > as candidate meteorites from Mercury?
