Here are several stunning thin section images of "The King of Angrites" NWA 6291.
Until this stone, there has never been an angrite that yielded translucent slices of pure anorthite crystals.
I had thin sections made from one of these to better be able to study these incredible crystals.
Tom Phillips was sent a thin section to use and came back with some of the finest images of a thin section I have ever seen.
Looking at these is an experience in itself... I hope you all enjoy them.
