As the friend of Steve's and owner of the stolen slice referred to....

As all too many of us know, to have something stolen from us is an
awful, awful feeling---and this being among the most resplendent and
valuable pallasitic Glorieta slices made it worse. But it seems to me
we should never allow the loss of a material good to continue to
create upset as we simmer over the same over an extended period.
While I was livid by the theft, I slowly became aware something more
was being stolen beyond a valuable meteorite: it was my being at
peace and in good cheer. Perhaps my being circumspect came from the
loss of something of far greater significance that same year---but the
lesson remains: there is a moment for the upset created a theft to
end, as we are then stealing from ourselves.

Steve, I'm not as sanguine as you as to the possible outcomes here.
It has been almost ten years. It wasn't your fault (and try to let go
of your suspicions). When we see one another next let's toast our
friendship and good fortune....as well as the hope that Allen's
situation turns out better than ours....and that it's the thieves who
live with the torment and discomfort of what they've done (for therein
is lies the seed for them to salvage their souls). I might also
mention I coated that slice in Polonium 210. ;-)
