Best! Martin PS: yes, since an eternity.... -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: Jeff Kuyken [mailto:info at meteorites.com.au] Gesendet: Freitag, 24. Trust it would be two IMCA directors to reply at the same time to one of the only meteorite related posts in days! ;-) Cheers, Jeff P.S. Do you have an NWA number for the L3 W0'er yet? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Martin Altmann" <altmann at meteorite-martin.de> To: <meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com> Sent: Friday, July 24, 2009 8:38 PM Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Martian and Lunar meteorites Meteorites on Moon are officially called "meteorites". Find in the search form of the Bulletin database in the field, where you select the countries: "Moon". http://tin.er.usgs.gov/meteor/metbull.php Official Meteorites on Mars can't exist yet, because we still have no possibilities to hand in the mandatory deposit masses at the classifying institutes, therefore they can't be recognized as official meteorites according the rules of NomCom. I'd say. Unless we change the definitions we can't call ones from mars, martian meteorites. Any ideas people?
