Draw a line from Kansas to California to Washington to North Dakota and compare that area to the number of witnessed falls in what is loosely known as NWA. 2. There are many people around to see the falls. 3. Most places have limited background rock so recovery is easier. 4. There is a 4:3 equatorial focusing of incoming bolides. 5. In many other countries, folks are working indoors or watching Wheel of Fortune on TV instead of wheel of fate up in the sky. -Martin On Fri, Jan 16, 2009 at 6:31 PM, RJP <yellowengine at earthlink.net> wrote: > Ok Folks, > > I am curious to know why there are so many witnessed (recovered) meteorite falls in Northwest Africa as opposed to anywhere else in the world. Is there a good logical and/or scientifc explanation for this?.. or just a coincidence? I understand that some "falls" simply turn out to be a case of Nomadic lies in an attempt to liquidate (recycle) old material, but what about the others? Perhpas it has something to do with it's geographical location in relation to..? > And yes, I do understand these people spend countless hours outdoors, in the desert, ect. but.. > > What are your thoughts? > > Ryan > ______________________________________________ > http://www.meteoritecentral.com > Meteorite-list mailing list > Meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com > http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list > Received on Fri 16 Jan 2009 10:22:53 PM PST |
