Dear List:

I am interested in purchasing an ore microscope and would like an expert's opinion on whether the one listed on Ebay below is worth the money.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&item=190285144445

An ore microscope is similar to a petrographic microscope but has, in additon to all the parts of a petrographic scope, also top light for reflected images of thick and opaque materials.

This one can be purchased for $525.

Anyone have any comments on this one?

I am looking to work with meteorite thin sections. This microscope appears to be of good quality for the price.

Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

Regards,

Dave
