I can confirm that the piece Ted Brattstrom is selling is indeed from Skylab and is one of the few 'pristine' pieces found in Australia. Some pieces appeared heavily damaged while others were in relatively good condition as this one. Skylab was a massive piece of debris and it is likely that some pieces were 'sheltered' by its large size during re-entry. There are still pieces of Skylab scattered about Western Australia. A large panel from a Saturn V stage was also found in good condition somewhere in Africa some years ago. There are tons of man made meteorites out there waiting to be found :) Kind regards, ? Shouldn't they have burnt up during re-entry? They look rusted, but not burnt/melted. On behalf of a friend, I'm offering up a piece of Skylab. It's got about a day and a half to run (if this gets posted in a reasonable time :-) ) Have a look if you are interested: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150201452455&ssPageN ame=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=005 Or look via: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZvolcanoted Thanks for looking - ted Brattstrom / volcanoted ____________________________________________________________________________ ________ Never miss a thing.
