The book that would come closest to what you are looking for was produced in 2004 and titled "Meteorites Comets and Planets" edited by Andrew M Davis. It was volume 1 of a 10 volume set "Treatise on Geochemistry" that was produced in 2003. At the time you had to by the whole set in hard back for something like $3000!. Fortunately volume 1 was reprinted in 2005 as a soft cover for $90. I sell it for $80. Here is the write up from the publishers website http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/bookdescription.cws_home/706698/description#description Mike -- Mike Jensen Jensen Meteorites 16730 E Ada PL Aurora, CO 80017-3137 303-337-4361 IMCA 4264 website: www.jensenmeteorites.com On 8/22/07, Alexander Seidel <gsac at gmx.net> wrote: > One of the more advanced books on meteorites, providing a good general > overview and specific insights into different classes of meteorites, > (..even for the interested layman, and a non-professional like me), > uses to be: > > Reviews in Mineralogy Volume 36 > "PLANETARY MATERIALS" > (J. Now I wonder whether there has been any "update" work issued ever since, or may be a book somehow comparable to this very remarkable volume. I don?t mean a journal like MAPS, which I am automatically subscribed to as a MetSoc member, but I rather think of a similar comprehensive "overview book" with more up-to-date scientific details. > > Any suggestions from the experts? Or do you know of a volume possibly in the pipeline, not yet issued, which may satisfy the needs for an update overview? > > Alex > Berlin/Germany > > ______________________________________________ > Meteorite-list mailing list > Meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com > http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list >Received on Wed 22 Aug 2007 05:53:20 PM PDT |
