In retrospect, I believe I saw the trail it left behind, although I didn't see the actual meteor. It did look remarkably like a jet contrail. I saw it on my way to work Wednesday morning (I do look up at the skies as I walk to work) and noted it because we see very few jet contrails in Hawaii, since most jets use Hawaii as a stopover if they are crossing the Pacific and Hawaii is in the flight path. If it was still glowing when it passed over Haleakala, it went sploosh!Tracy Latimer> Date: Fri, 13 Apr 2007 16:12:56 -0600> From: meteoriteplaya at gmail.com> To: baalke at zagami.jpl.nasa.gov> CC: meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com> Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Large Meteor Streaks Across Sky in Hawaii> > Hi List> I couldn't have said it better myself ????> > "Maberry said the meteor itself would not need to be very large to> make a spectacular show.> > "They don't have to be much larger than a poi pounder to look really> big," he said."> > > -- > Mike> --> Mike Jensen> Jensen Meteorites> 16730 E Ada PL
