All meteorite enthusiasts are invited to preview my new book.

It has been almost three years since I began this project, and along the
way, a very select group have offered their kind assistance.

Dr. Joel Schiff carefully edited the manuscript.
O. Richard Norton provided a momentum-building foreword.
Dorothy Norton donated comic line art and an original color illustration.
Darryl Pitt spent countless hours on the phone with me reviewing
contemporary meteorite history, offered examples of the photographic genre he invented,
and inspired me to think on a grander scale.
Geoff Notkin, Marlin Cilz and Mark Bostick shared photos.
Dr. Jeff Grossman and Norbert Classen contributed invited essays.
Robert Haag, Dean Bessey, Monica Grady, David New, Bernd Pauli and Steve
Schoner allowed me to interview them for special sections.
Steve Arnold of the International Meteorite Brokerage helped plant the
original seed.....

Many others played smaller, but important roles, and their help is noted in
the book's opening acknowledgments.

Incredibly exciting, positively mind-blowing, next generation photographs
are introduced courtesy of Tom Phillips. He has discovered a way to take
laser-sharp, almost three dimensional images of thin sections at 1,800 X
magnification. I am honored to present representative samples of these images here
first.

The formatting of a book is an art, and the craftsman responsible for giving
this book its bang is Geoff Notkin. A capable photo and print journalist,
Geoff has prepared this volume as if it were his own.

Weighing in at 232 pages with 43 color photos, the book is printed on the
highest quality stock.

"The Art of Collecting Meteorites" is meant to enlighten and entertain. It
is targeted to appeal to new and old collectors, dealers and researchers. Like
a reference, I hope that you refer to this book often. Unlike a reference, I
believe this book will be read cover-to-cover.

This First Edition book is a run of 1,000 copies. The first 500 ordered will
be numbered and signed. Orders will be shipped beginning about February 10.
