Perhaps Mr.Bartoschewitz can enlighten us more about this issue? The glaciers in the Alpes are not so mighty than the ice shield of Antarctica and there aren't such mechanisms, which transport and accumulate the meteorites over the time, as it's happening in the blue ice fields, but why not a try, the glaciers are shrinking and melting dramatically during the last few decades, perhaps in summer I'll take a look on the foot of some, to see, what they give free now. Another ice mummy like the Oetzi would be a nice collateral find. Buckleboo! Couldn't some of them have small scale "stranding fields" somewhat like Antarctica? ______________________________________________ Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list Received on Thu 17 Feb 2005 11:32:56 AM PST |
