They show some differences but are most likely paired of course: ------------------------------------------ A single mass of 19 g was found in the Sahara Desert, the location of which is presently being maintained in confidence by the French search team. Along with two other small masses, the 31 g Sah 99531 (R3-5) and the 27 g Sah 99537 (R3-6), both of which were recovered in close proximity to Sah 99527, this may represent a single fall of a brecciated meteorite. Consistent with this theory is the fact that all three meteorites have the same shock stage (S3) and a similar weathering grade (W3/4 vs. W4 for Sah 99527). Sahara 99527 was classified at the Institut f?r Planetologie in M?nster. Unlike its two pairings, Sahara 99527 does not contain solar noble gases, and it is therefore considered to be a solar gas-free inclusion within a larger regolith breccia. It has a 21Ne-based CRE age of 29.2 m.y. (Schultz et al., 2005). --------------------------------------------- one two buckle my shoe, David Received on Wed 31 Aug 2005 06:23:15 PM PDT |
