Hello Jos? Campos, Doug and all list subscribers.

I would like to contribute to explain the name Campos Sales for the
meteorite which fell in Brazil in 1991.

Campos Sales is a small town in the Cear? State, in the Northeast of Brazil.
This town was named after the Brazilian third President Manoel Ferraz de
Campos Sales. The meteorite fall was near such a town, hence the meteorite
name submited to the Meteoritical Society.

I have been there in 1997.

Here is the official information from Brazilian Government for the former
president Campos Sales.
