It is hard to debate or communicate with someone if their = critic consists of three or four words that are insults. Your e-mail is n= ot such and since I have gotten about private e-mails and the list has be= en kind of flood with e-mails I will comment a little further on the comi= c. =20 I would like to start by making two notes. =20 First, I like John and we have communicated privately well many times in = the past. I do not see his e-mail negative in any way. In fact, John was = kind enough to send me a couple samples of his Mars like earth gabbros th= e other week. I am not sure if I should thank him or not for that, as it = FORCED me to go out and find a few other gabbros slices for further compa= rison's....see what you started John...another sub-collection. I hope Joh= n does not see this e-mail negative and more of a debate. In fairness, Bo= linger has been doing satire comics professionally for over 25 years and = I have a file of ones I have done privately during my lifetime, but only = have two published comics to my credit. I do think that me and Bolinger h= ave experience in this field enough to know and understand what and what = is not a comic, however, I am willing to debate if it is a comic, a fair = comic and why it is funny. =20 Second, the artist Bruce Bolinger was performing work for hire and is one= of the most talented artists I know, and your opinion on the comic shoul= d not be reflected on him, everyone needs to eat, and this is his job. Wh= en I was about 10-12, I use to take my $10.00 a week allowance down to th= e local store and I would purchase a couple magazines and usually some Wa= lly Wonka candy. Mad Magazine and/or Cracked Magazine was usually my choi= ce in magazines and as I am sure some of you know it is a satire comic. T= he best Mad or Cracked magazine artist of all time is Don Martin. I am su= re you can look him up quite easy on the net, but to those that might hav= e bought these magazines as a kid, he haf the artwork with the stretched = bodies and heads, along with big oval eyes, a master at the silent comic.= Bruce Bolinger was kind of Don Martin's understudy and worked with him f= or several years at Mad. When Don Martin left Mad for Cracked Magazine, B= ruce left with Don, and I think most of the readers followed. Don Martin = has been dead for many years and I never had the chance to meet him. I di= d meet Bruce Bolinger many years ago at a major comic show. I use to go t= o many around that time but I think it was the San Diego convention. Anyw= ay I purchased a few original pages that made fun of Rush Limbaugh and wa= s a complete story published in Cracked Magazine. It was pretty cool as I= collect Mad and Cracked Magazine art and this one was complete with all = the print note sheets and film. Usually these were always lost, and with = modern technology, comics are produced a different way now. =20 Several years later I ran into a reference to Bruce again and managed to = make contact with him. He agreed to draw a comic for me and I at first go= t Bob Haag to agree to be my hunter. However, due to the satire nature of= the comic series I chose best not to use Bob. =20 I also do not think the comic was a big political statement and I think t= his shows most have too much time on their hands. The 'Rites & Wrong seri= es has always been satire. It satire humor does not interest you, do not = click on the links, that is simple I think. Here are the first comics. In the first one I had a hunter looking for meteorites across? the Canada= border in front of two Canadian police men. If anyone was thinking I was= telling you to go to Canada and hunt meteorites, or the like you are rea= ding too much into a simple comic. =20 http://www.meteoritearticles.com/comic1.html =20 My second comic showed a hunter close to the rim at Meteor Crater, in the= daytime hunting meteorites. If you think I am suggesting you do that, pl= ease do not call me when they take you to jail. =20 http://www.meteoritearticles.com/comic2.html =20 Lets see, the third showed a dog being killed by a meteorite and the owne= r's name was Mike. The dogs name on the dog house is Nakhla. If anyone th= inks this means I want to kill a dog or that I hate meteorite people name= d Mike, or any other crazy notion. I'm not even sure what to tell you. Ma= ybe count to 10 and breathe slowly. =20 http://www.meteoritearticles.com/comic3.html =20 My fourth comic shows a hunter using a magnet on a truck to collect a met= eorite....from the sky. This does not mean I think you can hunt meteorite= s this way, this does not mean I want a large meteorite to fall on a mete= orite hunter and his dog....while using a large magnet to collect meteori= tes. It is a comic. =20 http://www.meteoritearticles.com/comic3.html =20 And the fifth does show "gang activity" in PF. I guess here I will use Jo= hn's commentary to continue. =20 "I was wondering if and why I/someone might be offended by Mark's cartoon= about the Park Forest (PF) meteorite fall." =20 I think ANY satire comic, if you thought hard enough might offend someone= =20 ------=_NextPart_001_0016_01C41437.99B836C0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <HTML><BODY STYLE=3D"font:10pt verdana; border:none;"><DIV> <P>Hello John= and list, </P> <P>Thank you for your comments, although I do think you a= re being quite analytical, it is a one line satire comic now, at least yo= u had content in your commentary.
