Here in South Africa they also say that any meteorite belongs to the state
but I handed over a stone that looked just like a perfectly oriented
meteorite and it even had a crust like some of my NWA's complete with flow
lines weighing in at 640 grams. It just disapeared from the safe they stored
it in while awaiting testing and classification. The end result is that I
simply do not trust the govermental agencies anymore with what I find.
