I've begun collecting more of these, though I lean toward ones of known scientific interest. But I think some people who appreciated the rarity of meteorites have some resentment of the abundant NWA's. For them I say would you have us put them back in the desert? Oh I forgot we don't know exacted where they were picked up. Bother, we'll just have to keep them. Presenting it as a choice between a real desert meteorite and a fake meteorite from somewhere else is really not at the heart of the debate. I think the more balanced debate, if there is one, is between relatively equal rocks coming from either unknown desert locations with relatively less find-detail, or from known non-desert locations with relatively more find-details (or with FALL-details, of course). There are pro's and con's of both sides - mostly personal preference as far as I'm concerned. Certainly the comparative affordability of desert rocks is a major consideration to many.
