I think the closest area where K/T = impactite material is exposed is along the Mexico/Belize border. I guess = the material offered still could be of meteoritic origin but certainly = is not material from the K/T boundary, or as stated, from "the Big One". = My 2 cents, Frank ----- Original Message -----=20 From: magellon=20 To: Dave Harris ; meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com=20 Sent: Sunday, November 09, 2003 9:56 AM Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Chicxulub Meteorite Dave,=20 A better example is here: (more ridiculous excuses)=20 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3D2200664192=20 I wrote Mr. Shomin and asked how he got the material.=20 he wrote: "I took a trip to cancun, then took a car trip to Chicxulub = -& used=20 a magnet for final separation fron beach sand, then did a nickel test = at home.=20 Magnification reveales more detail like shiny metal flakes & metal = balls=20 from heat - most samples have native soil stuck to it, my results are = open=20 to the jugdement of others with better equipment.
