I doubt there isn't anyone on this list who doesn't know more about meteorites than me, but I am working on that. :-) I just wanted to correct the comment below by Steve about the environmental group outbidding the cattle ranch interests. It is not the first time this has happened. In fact it has been going on for quite some time here in Idaho. This move started quite some time back, went in court because the BLM tossed out the environmentalists winning bid, but they ended up winning when the court found in their favor. The precedent was set here in Idaho, and tested here in court. I think that Steve is correct about one thing, there will be more and more of this in the future.
