In reading he states he is a retired DOD Rock Hound, I thought = that the DOD would call them Geologists. Read this for yourself below. And as of now 8:17 PM here on the West Coast this auction is still = running............ Sorry but this is a iron meteorite!! Just because it may = not appear to be in the picture, I assure you it is. I got all these = experts who seem to think they know what they are talking about, but I = am afraid they don't! I have had a piece polished and etched so to see = the widmanstatten pattern. I don't claim to be an expert, but I will = say I have quite a bit of background in several fields as a retired DOD = rock hound. Thanks for trying to help=20 =20 =20 Regards to all on the list, Steven=20 ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Ian Barrett=20 To: meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com=20 Sent: Wednesday, May 21, 2003 2:17 PM Subject: [meteorite-list] Re: Another Meteor - Wrong auction with = PAPERS !!! The samples sent in were remants = of these pieces, and I would like someone to stand infront of me and say = they are not!!=20 As far as the gold, it is just reflective color. As far as the = diamonds suspect in carbon deposits, I gotta say I took that info off of = anouther Diablo Canyon canyon meteorite sale on ebay so I have no facts = on that at all.=20 Gotta say I am a little tired of suspect experts telling me about = things they don't apper to know much more about than I do! You think I = would put up with all these questions, if I was up to sometihing. I = stand by my reputation, these specimens are as defined. I wish you were = here to take a closer look. I have 100% positive feedback and plan on = it staying that way, and provide money back if not satisfied!=20 I guess I will keep selling this insane stuff!=20 Sincerly=20 Dan Ray=20 Ian Barrett wrote:=20 Can you explain your job as a metal inspector as I don't know what DOD = stands for?
