METEOR FALLS
Strikes a House and Kills Two Children - Brings Rain
Chichihua, Mex., July 14. - Particulars have reached here of the fall of =
a meteor in a small mining town of Santos Reis, this state. The meteor wa=
s of immense size and as it descended through the air it was a molten mas=
s of metal. It made its descent at noon, and was accompanied by a report =
louder than that made by a cannon. It struck the house of a miner and dem=
olished the building killing two children and then buried itself in the g=
round to a great depth. A large part of the meteor was broken off when it=
struck, and it was sent to the National museum at the City of Mexico. Th=
ere has been no rain in that section for nearly a year, but within twenty=
minutes after the fall of the meteor the sky became overcast with clouds=
and a heavy fall of rain took place.
