The protocol for classifying and acceptance of a new meteorite includes a thorough check of all known meteorites in the general area (I believe within a 25 mile radius) to make certain it does not pair with any meteorite that is already "in the books." For those of you that would like to see a picture of the King Tut, go to the following link and scroll to the bottom of the page. <http://www.meteoriteimpact.com/newfinds.htm> Best, John Gwilliam At 07:21 PM 6/9/03 -0700, Tom aka James Knudson wrote: >Hello again list, Is the King tut meteorite just a GB by a different name, >or is it a different meteorite? >Thanks, Tom >The proudest member of the IMCA 6168 > > > >______________________________________________ >Meteorite-list mailing list >Meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com >http://www.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list Received on Tue 10 Jun 2003 02:40:05 AM PDT |
