Thanks for your help everyone.. Here are the answers to various questions I
received. Looks like the going opinion is that is just a rock though.

Q: Does yours streak black? (And I mean REALLY black.)
A: Does not streak at all. Very hard rock.

Q: See if you can estimate its density.
A: Not sure how to estimate a density but it is one of the densest I have
come across.

Q: My first guess is some sort of slag, but it could be natural too.
A: Definitely not man-made, this was in the middle of nowhere (discovered it
while hunting). There are few towns in that part of the state and the only
industry I am aware of is cattle.

Q: Any rail road with in 10 miles?
A: Nope

Q: That face looks like zinc or lead.
A: Don't know a the qualities of zinc but I can say for certain it is not
lead.

-----Original message-----

I found this out of place rock in the South-Eastern Oregon desert a couple
months ago. It is very heavy and has an extremely weak but present
attraction to magnet. It doesn't look like any of the meteorites I've seen
but the magnetic attraction and the rounded surface crust make me wonder.
What do you think?
