Hi List,
I got caught by this too.

Windows Update is automaticly installing an updated Outlook
Express (or whatever) email application and resetting the
default options for mail sending format to html or mime or
something like that.

To change back:
Tools,options,send tab and set mail format to text only. I also
set text mode setting to uuencode.
