Dear List, I received a disturbing email today from the Directeur de la Geologie = from Morocco. It informed us that meteorites from Morocco are = considered National Treasures and without permits, meteorite purchasers = will be in violation of the law and prosecuted in Canada, France, Italy = and the United States of America with diplomatic awareness to the full = extent. They go on to say that only five permits were issued, mainly to = museums. We worked our nomadic purchases, after the fact, with a = museum, with a permit so we hope we are good. We declared everything we = brought out of the country and have receipts from the same agent who = finalized our exportation papers. The big problem is the same letter is asking us to cooperate and = provide names of other purchasers of meteorites in Morocco to avoid = further complications, we have done nothing wrong. We are wondering if = any other dealers have received a similar letter? All the best, Adam=20 The Moroccan government is thinking about=20 What is most disturbing is and thought everything was cool.. m heard a meteorite dealer is = going down, I hate it when that happens. Lets have a contest and figure = out who it is. The last one was Casper, who is next? Criminal charges? = Possibly! A press release, maybe, almost certainly. The idiots that = stole extraterrestrial legends from NASA as interns, I think not. ------=_NextPart_000_0014_01C2FF7A.B410FB60 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2800.1141" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Adam,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I seriously doubt this = is ligitimate. =20 </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>If it were, you would get an = official</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>letter via registered mail, not an=20 email.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>-Walter</FONT></DIV></FONT></DIV> <DIV>---------------------------------------------<BR><A=20 href=3D"http://www.branchmeteorites.com">www.branchmeteorites.com</A></DI= V> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <BLOCKQUOTE dir=3Dltr=20 style=3D"PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 5px; MARGIN-LEFT: 5px; = BORDER-LEFT: #000000 2px solid; MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px"> <DIV style=3D"FONT: 10pt arial">----- Original Message ----- </DIV> <DIV=20 style=3D"BACKGROUND: #e4e4e4; FONT: 10pt arial; font-color: = black"><B>From:</B>=20 <A title=3Dadamhupe_at_attbi.com href=3D"mailto:adamhupe@attbi.com">Adam = Hupe</A>=20 </DIV> <DIV style=3D"FONT: 10pt arial"><B>To:</B> <A=20 title=3Dmeteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com=20 = href=3D"mailto:meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com">meteorite-list@meteor= itecentral.com</A>=20 </DIV> <DIV style=3D"FONT: 10pt arial"><B>Sent:</B> Thursday, April 10, 2003 = 6:22=20 AM</DIV> <DIV style=3D"FONT: 10pt arial"><B>Subject:</B> [meteorite-list] Big=20 Trouble?</DIV> <DIV><BR></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Dear List,</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I received a disturbing email today = from the=20 Directeur de la Geologie from Morocco.
