From the IP address the email looks like it = originated from France not Morocco. Right, we are going to turn in all = our stones to the nearest embassy. =20 Another list member pointed out that a government official would never = email such a document, it would have been mailed. =20 Somebody else pointed out that these fake emails surfaced in the past = and that the embassy knew nothing about the issues when approached. This email sure had me concerned, nice joke, whoever, now get a life. All the best, Adam =20 ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Randy Mils=20 To: meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com=20 Sent: Thursday, April 10, 2003 9:00 AM Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Big Trouble? This may be an indication of things to come. It may be more difficult = in the future to just get on a plane in Morocco with a bag of rocks and = head home. We all know that the truth is that even though most NWA meteorites = pass through Morocco, only a few originate in Morocco. Most come from = the Sahara Desert regions of Algeria, Western Sahara, Mauritania, etc. = It is just more convenient for the Nomads of these closed countries to = sell their Meteorites to the Moroccan resellers for import to the rest = of the world. The country of Morocco is going to have a very difficult time proving = where these NWA meteorites actually come from. Seems like an idle = threat.
