Date: Thu Apr 22 10:08:24 2004 Message-ID: <20020911230316.18475.qmail_at_web10407.mail.yahoo.com> There is much that I can comment upon regarding this article in the recent M&PS journal, but let's just start with this: the most definitive "map" of OVERLAPPING strewn fields - Fig. 2, pg 1081, Vol.37-No.8, November 2002, M&PS "TheDar al Gani meteorite field (Libyuan Sahara): Geological Setting, pairing of meteorites, and recovery density" J. Schluter, et. al. Also, "[Their study] demonstrates that in some cases the shock stage is not a good criteria for the detection of paired samples." And much more... but will save those discussions for later. For all the vastness of the Sahara Desert, so many meteorite finds have come from a limited area of just a few plateaus! Quite an eye-opening article.
