I have been polishing some of the sawcut slices I have bought. I am reasonably happy with the results, but was wondering if there is an optimum Grit to polish to? So far I am going out to 600 grit which is still pretty rough by my wifes lapidary terms but alot better than a saw cut. Going past 600 grit starts to get expensive in consumables. What are ""professional"" slices typically polished to?
