For those new to meteorites = in general and oriented meteorites in particular, I would highly = recommend reading this article and examining the pictures Jim has = posted. I often see meteories described as "oriented" when in fact (to = me) they really do not appear to have the characteristics we = traditionally ascribe to an oriented meteorite. Jim's article should = leave no doubt as to what an oriented iron looks like. I like Jim's = analogy of rain running off a car windshield. Nice job Jim. Best wishes, -Walter ----------------------------------------------- Walter Branch, Ph.D. Branch Meteorites 322 Stephenson Ave., Suite B Savannah, GA 31405 USA www.branchmeteorites.com ------=_NextPart_000_0094_01C2553B.B80EBC00 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2719.2200" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Hello Everyone,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I just got a chance to look at Jim = Tobin's article=20 on oriented irons at Meteorite Times (<A=20 href=3D"http://www.meteoritetimes.com">www.meteoritetimes.com</A>). = For=20 those new to meteorites in general and oriented meteorites in = particular, I=20 would highly recommend reading this article and examining the pictures = Jim has=20 posted.
