Arrest Warrant Issued for Meteorite Suspect
The Namibian (Windhoek)
June 25, 2002

THE Windhoek Magistrate's Court yesterday issued a warrant of arrest for one
of the three people charged with attempting to steal a meteorite from the Gibeon
meteorite display in the capital last year.

Suspects Cornelius Dawid (22), Immanuel Shikwelepo Shaaneke (28), and
Robert Nghindeshange (30) allegedly attempted to take a meteorite from Post
Street Mall in September last year.

Magistrate Sarel Jacobs ordered that Nghindeshange be re-arrested and his
N$1 000 bail be forfeited to the State after the suspect failed to turn up at
court.

The case was postponed to October 14 to allow the trio to arrange for legal
representation.

The three men are residents of Katutura's Ombili and Greenwell Matongo
informal settlements. Shaaneke and Dawid's bail of N$1 000 was extended. - Nampa
