I can add a little info on NWA 995 as I supplied UCLA (Rubin) with type specimens on January 29th. The original mass of NWA 995 was a single stone of 222.9 grams, of which I turned in 19.0 grams, plus an additional 9.9 grams from Brad Sampson. So eventually we'll have a solid classification on this particular stone, which is a chondrite breccia of some sort. UCLA is still getting their new microprobe up and running, and with the upcoming Meteoritical Society meeting there in a few weeks, I doubt much progress can be made before August. Once I have a classification, I'll be sure to forward it to the list. --Rob Received on Mon 08 Jul 2002 06:09:53 PM PDT |
