I have examined hundreds of specimens, genuine meteorites, and within that framework, many missidentified specimens as well. Don't feel bad though. Even some museums, have made mistakes along the way with identification. But do yourself a big favor. Take ONLY ONE specimen with you, and use the advise from one of the list members who suggested this, and have it carefully analized. No need to haul all of the specimens around. The photos with the one specimen will due for this purpose as well. Make sure though you take it to a University, of an institution which specializes in meteorite classification. Showing the specimens to a neighbor or local rockhound just won't do. Lastly, please remember this...you were the one who solicited the help of the experts (and if you go away from this message believing only one thing today, believe me when I tell you this---this list is crammed chock full of experts). So perhaps you were not prepared for the answers you received? In that case it is NOT the experts fault you are unable to receive bad news. If anyone does in fact, buy your specimens, well then you have succeeded in at least one thing. The advise from the list members was given freely, you may do with it whatever you wish. But do try to prepare yourself - when upon the end of your quest, the answers are again revealed. Best to all, Steven L.
