Anything perceived as being valuable is going to get picked up / stolen / traded. As Mike, Dirk and others have pointed out, as far as the nomads are concerned, location devices can only hurt them in the long run. The intellectual property (i.e. the find locations) is perceived to be more valuable than the potential increased value of sold meteorites with location information. Worse, there is no guarantee that nomads with GPS devices (and an adequate supply of batteries and training) would report the real coordinates. Why would they, when they could get more $$$ for their finds AND still keep their find locations secret? Who would be the wiser? No, the only sure way to get accurate NWA meteorite coordinates is to go there yourself and find them yourself. Doable, but expensive not to mention dangerous. --Rob ------_=_NextPart_001_01C24A47.C3AEA010 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META content="MSHTML 5.00.3315.2870" name=GENERATOR></HEAD> <BODY> <DIV><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=200464901-23082002>Tom wrote:</SPAN></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=200464901-23082002></SPAN></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=200464901-23082002>> </SPAN></FONT>Hello List, Maybe we could give these Nomads a canvas bag full<SPAN class=200464901-23082002><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2> </FONT></SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=200464901-23082002><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2>></FONT></SPAN> of little satellite transmitters and have them throw them on the ground<SPAN class=200464901-23082002><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2> </FONT></SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=200464901-23082002><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2>></FONT></SPAN> at strewn fields finds.
