The United States Postal Service is operating internally in the United
States but there is no airmail service at this time. With all commercial
air flights suspended, a majority of the mail is not moving. Some will
undoubtedly be moving within the country by truck, but any mail normally
carried by air is on hold.

If what I see and hear in all the news coverage, mail will no longer be
carried by domestic airline flights. Up until Tuesday morning, this was
the standard procedure. I haven't heard whether or not airmail will be
transported by different carriers, but it appears that with all the new
security measures put in place, airmail will be slowed down considerably.

We all will be affected by this disaster is more ways than one. All of us
need to remember the importance of being patient, offering our time and
support, and most of all, refrain from complaining about shortages,
slowdowns and interruption of services. Now is the time to recognize that
our person needs must be put on hold for a while. Our country will survive
this disaster.
