how the media works...sometimes:

just did a nexis (the largest media database) search.

the article in question was written by foster klug and first appeared on the arizona state AP wire on 9/5/2001.
it was deemed worthy for national distribution only today.

the story never appeared earlier than 9/5. i also searched other stories and it's appalling how foster cribbed from others' work.

oh well.
