If it were a sphere 3" in diameter made of nickel-iron (sp. ~7.9), the mass would come to a hair over 4 lbs (1.83 kilos): 4/3 * pi * (1.5" * 2.54 cm/inch)^3 * 7.9 = 1830 grams.
