Michael,
If you are computer prone and like to see where you have been, I also =
recommend Garmin. The GPS III plus allows for integration with DeLorme =
Mapping, and Maptech Mapping software. You can preplan on a 3D topo of =
the area using the mapping software, then upload your waypoints from the =
pre-plan into the unit. Once in the field you can follow the pre-loaded =
waypoints, use them as a guide in case you wander while hunting, ADD =
waypoints of things you may want to return to later, and any waypoints =
of Meteorites you find.=20
Then you can take that unit, and sync up your map with the waypoints =
from in the field, VERY helpful for knowing where you have searched for =
pre-planning your next adventure.=20
Any of the Garmin series are a good choice. Mine needed a new lifetime =
memory battery after the first year, they had it back and updated in 10 =
days, no charge.

There are way too many peripheral goodies for the Garmins, and some =
really awesome mapping software, find the companies above just add a dot =
com to their first names. Maptech.com allows you to print free maps, I =
have a cable modem so I can not tell you about bandwidth, my maps print =
in under a minute. They sell some awesome mapping software that works =
well with my Garmin.

Mark
