Hello Everyone, Check this out! When I was in Morocco buying meteorites there was an interesting event that occured. One day in Erfoud, Morocco my partner (Mike Farmer) and I went to a man's house to check out his collection of meteorites. Our guide kept telling us that he had a cool new iron meteorite and that we should see it. Well.....he showed us his iron and Farmer and I looked at each other, we looked at the = iron again......and it took us both about 2 seconds to realize we were looking at an old rusty Campo del Cielo from Argentina. Even though they had been telling us it was from the Sahara....THERE WAS NO DOUBT that we were looking at a Campo. We were pissed off and we told them if they ever tried that again we would not be buying any thing from them. They just laughed and laughed. They got caught! We went to another house about an hour later and sure enough the same damn thing happened again! This time the old man in the house pulled out a box and in this box was a rusty, rusty old NANTAN! Twice in one day! =20 We traced all these meteorites back to a fossil dealer who comes to Tucson every year. These irons, which were not Sahara Irons were most likely bought in Tucson and transported back to Morocco to sell as Sahara Irons. Now that is the opposite of what everyone is talking about! What saved us from being caught up in a scam was our knowledge base. Both Farmer and myself have seen hundreds of kilos of Campo's and Nantan's. We were not suckered into this because we had known what we were looking at. I don't have a ready answer about the possible fraud that can take place with a possible relocation of the NWA meteorites. But it seems to me THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE MADE THE NON LOCATION OF NWA METEORITES SUCH AN ISSUE HAVE CREATED THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE. I mean you whine about NWA Meteorites because they don't have a = location and then you worry about the fact that someone might want to give them one. = YOU HAVE CREATED THIS. If you would just accept the fact that these NWA = Meteorites exist without known locations and give them the credibility that they = deserve, THEN maybe you might not loose so much sleep about people giving them a = known location. IT IS A FACT! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE IT. NWA METEORITES DO NOT HAVE A KNOWN LOCATION. THE MOROCCAN's and others will have hundreds = of kilos for sale in Tucson. There are hundreds of more kilos in Morocco = and you will never DOCUMENT ALL. NEVER. Now if you just accept this fact that they (NWA) meteorites don't have = locations then maybe you can avert a problem before it even begins. Stop sprouting = so much hate against a single group of meteorites and maybe people will never even = think or relocating them. =20 I mean some of you folks take this whole issue way, way too serious. =20 Those who get caught relocating these meteorites will pay a high and = dear price. Do not worry about that. When caught......I say when, because they = will get caught. There are many people who have the experience to detect such = events and there is no way they really could get away with it .....for long! Just accept the fact that NWA meteorites exist without known location = and maybe, just maybe, everyone else will too and the coming and going of these = meteorites will be legitimate enough, so that people will not be driven to = consider relocating them because somehow they feel that as NWA meteorites...they are not = good enough! You know, I thought I would never live to see the day when MOROCCAN'S = would=20 relocate meteorites from other parts of the world to their own = country!!!!!
