A certificate could be printed by this same 12 year old with a JPEG photo of the actual "Mars Speck" from his backyard, the important part is the image maintained by the dealer, if the dealer could not maintain the image indefinitely on the web he could maintain it on a floppy for emailing to anyone requesting "The photo for certificate number MB2001-001645".
